No.5 Open
The underframes, brakes and, body were all designed and built by the BWLR during 2001/2 and used officially from May 2002. The 2 foot gauge bogies are from the South African Railway. The 32 seater coach with guards position is 25' 6" long.
The bench type seat frames were shaped in the BWLR workshops and fitted with wooden slats cut from local timber. The roof internally is of narrow tongue and groove planking stained alternatively dark and light, giving a very pleasing effect. The roof externally has a traditional canvas covering.
