The twinning of
The Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway
with
Le Chemin de Fer Touristique de la Vallee de l'Ouche
Over the last weekend of September 2007 six representatives of the Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway travelled to the beautiful Burgundy region of France, to the town of Bligny-sur-Ouche where they were guests of Le Chemin de Fer Touristique de la Vallee de l'Ouche, a 60 cm narrow gauge line 7Km in length.

On the Saturday the BWLR group met up with their CFVO counterparts and then visited the local area around Bligny and Dijon. That evening they attended a dinner hosted by the CFVO at a restaurant in the City of Beaune

On the Sunday the BWLR group were involved in all aspects of operating on the CFVO on this their last day of operation for the 2007 season. They prepared the Decauville steam locomotive for service, shunted the carriages, and then fired and drove the locos on the line.
At the end of the day Bill Best for the BWLR and Jean-Yves Tuffery, President of the CFVO, shook hands and agreed to the twinning of the two lines, issuing a joint statement "....welcoming the opportunity and benefits of working together and sharing information, enjoying each others railways and the differences in culture on each side of the Channel. Vive le difference et vive la vapeur."
